Red Bean Paste Sorbet

Smooth, sweet, and subtly earthy, this Red Bean Paste Sorbet is a unique and elegant dessert, especially suited for ending a Chinese or pan-Asian meal. Made with canned sweetened red bean paste, it’s easy to prepare and offers a refreshing, refined finish with a traditional flavor profile that surprises and delights.


Ingredients:
  • One 18-ounce can sweetened red bean paste
  • 1 cup water
  • 1½ cups simple syrup

Instructions:
  1. Blend:
    In a food processor, combine the red bean paste and water. Blend until completely smooth.
  2. Sweeten:
    Stir in the simple syrup until well incorporated.
  3. Freeze:
    Pour the mixture into the bowl of your Whynter ice cream maker and freeze according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve in small bowls with a sprinkle of toasted sesame seeds or a few pieces of candied ginger. This sorbet pairs well with green tea or alongside sesame cookies for a balanced finish.
