Makes about 4 cups
Ingredients
- 1¾ cups whole milk
- ⅓ cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons packed light brown sugar
- ¼ teaspoon fine sea salt
- 2 cups freeze-dried strawberries
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Directions
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the milk, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt until the sugars are dissolved. Add the freeze-dried strawberries and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or up to overnight to allow the strawberries to soften and infuse the mixture.
- Pour the strawberry mixture into a blender and blend on high until smooth. Add the heavy cream and vanilla extract, then blend on low just until combined.
- Assemble the Whynter ICS-167 Series Soft Serve Ice Cream Maker with the nozzle placed inside the dispensing assembly. Pour the prepared ice cream base into the ingredient funnel. Select the Ice Cream function and press Start.
- When the soft serve is ready to dispense, the unit will signal before entering Keep Cool mode.
- Dispense directly into cones or cups and serve immediately.
